See your iPhone in motion! Watch your iPhones gyroscope and accelerometer sensors in action and discover how they work. Measure the effect of gravity on your iPad and experiment with its magnetometer. Apply filters to the data stream and save the sensor data to your phone and export it to your computer. Sensor Kinetics Pro gives you the complete picture about all of the motion sensors on your iPhone or iPad.

Scroll up and down the Sensor Kinetics Pro screen to see the many motion sensors in your iPhone. The advanced viewers show real-time measurements from all of the standard sensors available in your iPhone or iPad, including the gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer. Sensor Kinetics Pro provides a comprehensive look at the combined operations of all the kinetic (motion) sensors.

Tap the sensor title line with the chart icon to activate the chart viewer. Each chart viewer provides detailed scrolling graphs for the three relevant axes of the associated sensor. In the case of the accelerometer, the chart viewer has two modes. In raw data mode, it produces a graph of the accelerations along the X,Y,Z axes, while during Rotation data mode, the app computes the actual roll and pitch angles as they accumulate while you rotate and move the device.

Who Should Use Sensor Kinetics Pro? Developers, students, hobbyists... anyone whos curious about what lies "under the hood" of their iPhone or iPad! It will tell you exactly what motion sensors you have on your iPhone, what the sensors are measuring, and allows you to capture and export the data derived from the sensors.

APP DEVELOPERS: Developers can use Sensor Kinetics to closely watch the behavior of the sensors they use in their apps, then save this data and export it to your computer via e-mail (.csv or .plist). You can compare the performance of advanced sensors like the gyroscope, linear acceleration sensor and the rotation sensor.

TEST YOUR DEVICE: Sensor Kinetics allows you to test all of the sensors on your iPhone or iPad. For example, you can quickly determine if your iPhone has a gyroscope sensor and how fast its operating. The chart viewers allow you to measure any sensor over time to gauge their accuracy and behavior.

EDUCATIONAL: Sensor Kinetics demonstrates the physics of gravity, acceleration, rotation, magnetism and more as these forces are measured by your iPhone or iPad sensors, including the gyroscope and accelerometer. The app includes comprehensive help files with easy to understand information and experiments that you can perform with the sensors. Great hands-on tool for physics courses on classical mechanics.

Pros and cons of Sensor Kinetics Pro app for iPhone and iPad

Sensor Kinetics Pro app good for

This application overall is excellent. My favorite part of it is the gravity sensor. I got it for a physics field trip to a roller coaster park. The only problem is exporting the data can be a bit buggy. Please add support for other methods of export such as Gmail, iMessage, etc.
This app is great. I love to use it to track motion using the accelerometer. The only thing that this app needs is dual data gathering capability simultaneously (for example accelerometer and gyroscope). Please please please update the app with this capability, it will make sensor kinetics infinitely more useful!
1: This is a fantastic app, made by skilled developers. You can tell because the app is clean and elegant, like a proper tool. This makes operation fast and easy, while providing awesome live data though a visual interface. Its worth the purchase, its less than a gallon of gasoline. That being said, I hope that the app can continue to improve, or even give rise to other great apps like this! -I am not sure if I missed it in settings, but my data stops recording when I lock my screen. When away from a charger, turning off the screen would help battery life. -The 6 plus has an (almost hilarious) array of sensors, and I would love to get poking around! I would love to spend quite a bit of money on more apps like this. Heres some that I can think of: barometer, ambient light, proximity detection, autofocus, GPS, microphones, thermometer, and we cant forget the gimbal stabilized camera! Im sure apple has some data hidden, but the more the merrier. Even if the app stayed the same, I love this app and I cant wait to continue to learn!

Some bad moments

Im very happy to see all of the additions in the pro version of this app. I really liked Sensor Kinetics and now I love Sensor Kinetics Pro even more. Bravo to the developer. I can save my charts and email them too. This app is perfect for capturing gestures and really understanding the hardware on my phone. Thanks for exposing all the data.
This app is what the future is made of , and it fits in the palm of your hand .
I love the app; its the best of the breed. One feature request. Please include error measurements for the magnetometer (and other sensors if error is provided by the API).
Worth it! Every one of those 99 pennies. This deserves many more downloads and 5 star ratings!
I love this app! However, it is rendered useless if I cant save and share the data as described. App freezes when attempting to save.
For those who like to measure stuff, this access to the sensor technology in iDevices opens many possibilities. Great for classroom use! The background material on sensors is very helpful. Needs improved nomenclature for gyros, a few coordinate graphics for clarity. Gyro axes for Pitch & Roll are interchanged in Sensor view, correct in Chart view. Better to use names instead of letters in Sensor view, with a graphic. Consistency is important.
